Pillars of Grace
. . . . is a ministry that is as much age related as any other purpose. As seniors, we have unique needs, likes, and, yes, dislikes. We are not as challenged by playing church softball or flag football, tennis or running track. We are more geared to watching others do those things and talking about how well we use to do them. Our conversations sometime vacillate from bunions to bulges, but mostly about our precious grand children. It is those subjects that occupy our interactions sometimes.
However, make no mistake, we love the Lord with all out heart and realize that we probably are closer to seeing Him then our younger counterparts. Thus, we enjoy getting together to study – much of the time – end time prophecies as well as our responsibilities to be the mentors to the younger crowd that God wants us to be. We fellowship, have fun, pray, and dine together.
Even though we might be somewhat older, we haven’t lost our sense of humor. So we laugh a great deal. After all, the joys of life for our Lord create a great atmosphere to rejoice in the daily routine of life. And, so as not to lose all of our physical identity, once in a while we break out and learn the newer technology of things such as the “Wii” that, surprisingly keeps us huffing and puffing.
We meet once a month and truly enjoy our special uniqueness that draws us together.
